John has 40 years Motor Finance experience having worked at Regional Management level for both Lloyds Bowmaker & Lloyds UDT before becoming Business Development Director at the combined business (now Black Horse)

In 2000, John formed “Motor Connect Limited” on a joint venture basis with Mann Island Finance before merging the businesses and joining the board as joint owner.

In 2014, the board agreed to sell Mann Island to Investec in order to turn the brokerage into a Finance Company. John was appointed as Head of Sales before being appointed as CEO in 2017

John has strong industry connections and long-term relationships across the industry which has been a key driver of Mann Island’s growth since inception. This growth in scale has recently seen the company balance sheet exceed £1bn
